Lower back pain is very common. Many people complain about the ache that they feel in the lower part of their back. There are about 90% who experiences this pain in some time of their lives and half of this percentage experiences more than just one episode of it.

Lower back pain is not really a particular disease but rather a symptom of other conditions. Unfortunately, not all people who are suffering from it have been diagnosed of the specific condition that causes the said pain. There are many causes of lower back pain. It can be due to a kidney infection or any problem in the kidney. It can be a pelvic infection. It can also be an infection in the bladder or it can also be an ovarian disorder. Being pregnant may also cause lower back pain as well as sciatica. Sciatica can cause it because in this condition, the nerve roots are irritated and this irritation can cause pain in the lower back part of your body. Herniated disc is also another condition that may give pains in your lower back. This is the condition in which the spinal discs of a person degenerates or becomes thinner that may cause inflammation which can also lead to pain. This is the most common cause of lower back pain to elder people.
Lower back pain has many causes. You have to know what the cause of your pain is in the lower back to know what treatment kind of treatment is right for you. Consulting to a doctor might be very helpful in this because you can’t diagnose yourself. But, if you can’t go to a doctor yet and you want to get a relief for it, you may want to try some home remedies for it.
How to get relieved from lower back pain?
To get relieved from lower back pain when you are at home, you may do some self-care tips such as putting a pillow between your legs when you are sleeping with your side. You may also put a pillow under your knees while you are lying on your back. You may also take over-the-counter medications such as Ibuprofen or Acetaminophen or some topical agents such as creams and gels that you can rub directly on your lower back. Another thing that you can do is to apply ice or heat in the area that is aching. Lower back pain may also be alleviated if you do some back exercises. You may need to exercise regularly to strengthen your back muscles. But, do not exercise yet on the first day. Take a bed rest for maybe a day and after that, you may start exercising. Rest is what you may need if you feel lower back pain, but if you have too much of it, it may cause blood clots, depression or may weaken your back muscles.
These home remedies can really be helpful in treating lower back pain. But, if it becomes chronic, you should be consulting your doctor immediately. Because it might be that your lower back pain is already a symptom of a serious disease that needs an immediate treatment.
